9-9:30                    Independent Reading

9:30-9:40              Reading reflection in reading journals

9:40-10:10           Soundwaves

Talk about the sound of the week and do questions 1 and 2 together as a small, group.

Students to then finish up to question 3 and visit the ‘unjumbler’ function on soundwaves.com independently.

10:10                     We will identify an event from Australia’s history that we wish to research further.

Students to begin researching people/events/groups of significance in Australia’s history from 1785-1901. This may include poets, bushrangers, politicians, people from significant events such as the Eureka Stockade. Begin by looking at all the events in Australia’s history at the following website.

Make note of the fact that the 1800s are the 19th century and the late 1700s are the 18th century.

After recess:             Continue Research if not finished or done well enough. Decide together.

Then:               Maths

Complete MY NUMERACY activities on Essential Assessment. If students have the Statistics and Probability test to still complete, complete during this time.

THEN:

Move on to week 6 of maths online revision. Repeat until you get 100%. Try specific tasks that you are finding hard. Make independent learning decisions.

Work independently but help each other where appropriate.

After Lunch: Play games on SOUNDWAVES.com and select your 10 words for this weeks spelling.

            For the remaining time, you may complete independent writing, independent reading, finish work or work on a maths task.
